The 46 inch nightmare

J.Paul got up at 3:30 am on black Friday to get a TV. We've been planning on getting a flat screen with our tax return in the spring but J.Paul saw that the Navy Exchange had a 46" flat screen for $500 off on black Friday. So he decided it was worth the hassle to go ahead and get it. They opened at 5 am and when he got there he said there were about 45 people in front of him, but he got his TV. He got home and set it up and was feeling pretty pleased with his purchase, until about an hour later. We started noticing some discoloration. We had put in an old VHS tape for the kids and thought maybe it just wasn't very compatible with the HD. Well, we turned it off, and the TV was still like that. Basically it ended up that the whole right side had a few red and green stripes and was discolored. We called the Exchange and they said that we could exchange it, but they didn't have any more. He called Sharp and they said they would send some repairmen to pick it up and if it couldn't be fixed they would replace it. So that's where we are. It's at the repair shop so we're waiting to hear word back about it. Isn't it nice to fork out a lot of dough for something that doesn't work?
