Amzie's Announcement

Amzie came in the living room the other day and announced, "Mom, Evan's gonna have a baby brother!".* This is what she looked like.

Shortly after the announcement, the baby was born. His name was Tiny.

Evan was happy to hold his new baby brother, Tiny. But only for a second.

October is birthday month around here...
This irresistable guy turns two.

And this little sweetheart turns four.

We had an Arthur (or as Evan says Ar-ur) party to celebrate! We partied outside and got cold.

After eating some hamburgers and hot dogs we headed inside to open presents. You can't really see it in any of these pics but Amzie took it upon herself to slip into something a little more comfortable (her PJ's) for the present-opening portion of the party.

Evan was thrilled to receive a bunch of boy toys including trains, cars, trucks, tools. He was in heaven!

Amzie got the doctor's set she's been wanting and a special white coat with Dr. Beeler embroidered on it. She went right to work on her first patient (grandma).

Then it was time for cake! (Don't laugh at my Arthur cake) Evan was quickly backing away because he was scared of the candles.

We had a fun party and Amzie already has plans in the works for next year's!

I did it!

I did my first 5k this weekend and had a great time. The course was a little more hilly than what I'm used to, but the whole experience was a lot of fun. I'm seeing a lot more of these in my future...

After the run there was fall fun for the whole family. We had a fun Saturday and a good weekend.

6 and 10

Saturday September 27th was J.Paul and my 6th anniversary. We had a great night out. We ate at J.Alexander's, went to the bookstore, and went to a movie - 3 of our favorite things. As we were talking we also realized not only have we been married 6 years but we have been together all together for 10 years. We started dating in August of 1998. Crazy. For those of you who don't know our story, here is a very brief synopsis. We started dating in Aug, broke up, got back together, J.Paul left on his mission, I left on my mission, I got home, he got home, we started dating again, we broke up again, he asked me to marry him (yes, we were broken up and I was dating someone else when he asked me to marry him), then we got married. And we lived happily ever after...
