By the way...

I'm missing out on a great concert right now. I should be there, but instead I'm here blogging about not being there. So, I've been hearing that Foo Fighters were coming in January for a couple months now. I thought it would be a really fun concert to go to, but when you're talking 50 bucks for mediocre seats times two, it gets to be really pricey. BUT THEN, Reed called yesterday to say "guess who I heard is coming to town?" Yeah, you got it, Jimmy Eat World. Pretty much my favorite band. He was at work and asked me to look it up. So I did and found out that they were coming the next day (today). It just so happens that J.Paul has a huge test Monday, Reed couldn't come, Carolyn couldn't (wouldn't) come, and I don't know any other 30 year olds with such a yearning. I would go in a box or with a fox, here or there or anywhere, except by myself. Besides, it wasn't in the budget, and I guess grown-ups stick to their budgets, right? Anyways, wah, wah, wah.

Oh, Marlena! I feel so sad for you. If only it were the good ol' days again.

I feel really bad too. Personally, I think I would choose the Foo Fighters over Jimmy Eat World...either way, it stinks that no one would go with you to your favorite band. Are they like your very favorite in all the world? Because with Harry I would have gone alone or wrangled someone in the ward, anyone to go. So I am thinking it was not that big of a deal, or was it? If it they are comparable to Harry for you, my heart hurts just thinking of your pain. Sorry.

I forgot to tie in the fact that Jimmy Eat World was opening for the Foo Fighters, so you see it was a double-whammie. And by the way, it would be easier to rope someone in to seeing Harry, heck you could even get your grandma to go. But a loud rock concert is apparently a different story. Boy, I miss Kirk...he would have been all over that. By the way, Jenn, although I would consider Jimmy Eat World my favorite band, it's different for me than for you, i.e. I wouldn't cry when they came out on stage. Maybe the "love" is on a different level. None of the band members are nearly as sexy as Harry.

Okay, both bands in one concert is pretty rough. I did not realize they were your FAVORITE band. Sorry. Those chances don't come around that often. I feel very bad for you, even after the grandma comment. You'll see them next year, right?
